Adjuster said my claim is "under review" for 6 weeks now - is this normal?
My homeowner's claim has been sitting at "under review" for going on 6 weeks. Every time I call they just say it's still being reviewed and someone will be in touch. I had a pipe burst in January and the damage is pretty significant - water got into two walls and the subfloor in my kitchen.
Is 6 weeks actually normal? At what point should I be concerned something is wrong? My contractor said he's seen claims sit for 3-4 months before but that seems crazy to me. I've got a $2,800 estimate sitting on my desk and I don't know whether to just pay out of pocket and get this fixed or keep waiting.
Any advice appreciated. First major claim I've ever filed and I feel totally lost.
