Blizzard damage in North Dakota - weight of snow claim

The blizzards last winter collapsed our older garage roof. Insurance covered it under "weight of ice and snow" clause. Wanted to share that this is usually included in ND policies but with limits.

Pro tip: after heavy snow, take photos/video of the accumulation. Our claim went smoothly because we had Ring doorbell footage showing the snow piling up before collapse. Also ND has strict timeframes for insurers - they have 30 days to investigate. Know your rights under ND Century Code 26.1-39.
