Claim denied for "pre-existing damage" - how do I fight this

Got a denial letter today saying the water damage to my basement was pre-existing. I bought this house 8 months ago and the home inspection was clean.

How do i prove damage happened AFTER i bought the house? The adjuster barely looked around before making this decision.
