Dealing with Arkansas wind/hail deductible - percentage based

Heads up for Arkansas homeowners - if you havent checked your policy lately, look at your wind/hail deductible. Mine was a percentage of home value (2%) rather than a flat dollar amount.

On a $250k home thats a $5k deductible just for wind/hail. I didnt realize this until I had a hail claim and was shocked. Some insurers offer flat deductible options but you have to ask specifically.
