Dental insurance denied root canal as "not necessary"

Had a tooth that was causing major pain. Dentist said I needed a root canal. Insurance denied it saying extraction would be sufficient.

Appealed with X-rays showing the tooth can be saved. Still denied. They want me to lose a tooth to save them money.
