How long does the insurance company have to respond to my claim?

Filed a water damage claim 3 weeks ago. Nobody has contacted me. I call every few days and get put on hold forever then told "its being processed."

Meanwhile my kitchen floor is still ripped up and I cant use half my house. Is there a legal deadline for them to respond? Im in Texas if that matters.
