Hurricane damaged my roof 4 months ago - still waiting on insurance

Hurricane came through in September. My roof has significant damage, tarps are barely holding. I filed my claim within 24 hours.

Since then:

- Adjuster came out once, took photos, said I'd hear back in 2 weeks
- Called every week for updates, always "still processing"
- Finally got a letter last week saying they need MORE documentation
- Meanwhile my ceiling is starting to leak through the tarp

Is this normal? At what point can I involve my state insurance department? I'm in Florida and I know they're swamped but this is ridiculous.

Any advice from people who've been through hurricane claims would be appreciated.
