Kentucky tornado outbreak - claim tips from a survivor

Went through the December 2021 tornado outbreak and finally have everything settled. Wanted to share what I learned for other Kentucky folks who might face this.

1) File FEMA claim even if you have insurance - they can supplement. 2) Kentucky has a disaster relief fund that can help with deductibles. 3) Document EVERYTHING before cleanup - I know you want to clean up but photos first. 4) Temporary housing costs can exceed your ALE coverage fast - negotiate early.
