My experience with a public adjuster - worth every penny

Hurricane damaged our house last year. Insurance offered $22,000. We knew that wasnt going to cover the repairs - our contractor quoted $67,000.

Hired a public adjuster who took 10% of the settlement. They documented every single thing - stuff we would have missed. Photographed damage inside walls, in the attic, water stains we thought were cosmetic but actually indicated structural issues.

Final settlement: $58,000. Even after the PAs 10% cut we ended up with way more than the original offer. The PA knew exactly what to say and what documentation to provide.

Only downside was it took 5 months to settle. But Id rather wait and get a fair payout than accept the lowball.
