Nebraska hail capital - how to actually get roof claims paid

Living in Nebraska means hail every year basically. Ive been through three roof claims in 10 years. Wanted to share what Ive learned about getting fair settlements here.

1) Get multiple contractor estimates BEFORE the adjuster comes. 2) Be present during inspection. 3) Nebraska follows actual cash value unless you have replacement cost endorsement - know which you have. 4) The state insurance department actually helps if you file complaints. Theyve investigated my last two claims and both times the insurer increased their offer.
