LTD benefits cut off after 24 months - the 'own occupation' to 'any occupation' switch is brutal

I've been on long-term disability since 2022 after a spinal injury that ended my career as a surgical nurse. My policy paid 60% of my salary for two years under the "own occupation" definition. Last month I hit the 24-month mark and they switched to "any occupation" and immediately terminated my benefits.

Their letter says I'm capable of sedentary work and therefore no longer qualify. My doctor strongly disagrees and has documentation showing I can't sit for more than 20 minutes without significant pain. I never expected to be in this situation honestly. Has anyone successfully appealed an any-occ termination? Did you need an attorney? I'm reading that ERISA claims are really hard to win without a lawyer but I also can't afford one right now.
