State Farm denied my roof claim for "pre-existing wear" - the storm was 2 weeks ago
I am absolutely livid right now. We had a major hailstorm roll through on March 28th - my neighbor's car has dents all over it, two other houses on my street are getting full roof replacements, and my adjuster just sent me a denial letter citing "pre-existing wear and tear."
The roof was installed in 2018. Six years old. The adjuster spent maybe 20 minutes up there and then wrote this letter. He didn't even take photos from every section - i was watching him the whole time. When i asked to see his documentation he said he'd "send it over" and never did.
I've already called my agent and she basically said i can file an appeal but "these decisions are usually final." Super helpful. Has anyone actually won a hail damage appeal with State Farm or am i just wasting my time? Thinking about calling a public adjuster for a second opinion before i throw in the towel.
