Wildfire smoke damage in Boise area - is it covered?

We didnt have actual fire damage but the smoke from nearby wildfires was so bad that everything in our house smells. Furniture, carpet, even clothes in closets. Insurance is saying smoke damage without fire isnt covered.

Has anyone in Idaho successfully claimed smoke damage from wildfires? The cleaning costs are going to be thousands and it seems crazy this wouldnt be covered.
